Charity Cycle ride to Spain


THIS crazy lot have just cycled 1,200km all the way to the Costa del Sol from the UK.
The eight-strong Mad English Cycling Team, who set off on October 16 from St Albans, raised a mammoth €40,000 for the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospice and Grove House Hospice.

A Day in Xativa








Xativa is about 40 minutes south west of Valencia, and well worth a visit. The town has the imprint of many different civilisations. With the castle being the best place to survey the valley. There are plenty of shops in the new town and the old town is which dates from the 16th to 18th century is steeped in history. We found a great place in the old town for lunch, and then went to explore the castle. The castle is very big and has plenty to see, although much of it has been restored. However worth the visit.

According to the Olive Press, the Russian president has built him self a nice little (4000m2) villa near Malaga.

So the olive harvest is well under way here in Spain. Spain produces some of the best olive oil in the world, and in the area near the town of Jaen the produce more olive oil that Greece. Always read the label on the oil as in some countries the mix the olive oil with corn oil but still call it olive oil,

After nearly 18 months of decline, August saw a year on year increase of 3% in property prices. Official statistics report that there were 27708 more transactions than August 2011. Britain's are increasingly taking advantage of the strong pound and rock bottom prices.

Spanish airport tax set to rise next year


AIRPORT taxes will rise by seven per cent in Spain next year, which is set to whack up the cost of flights.
Although the government claims the average cost per flight ticket will be just 1.40 euros extra, the increase in airport duties will be five per cent above inflation.

Britains forget to pack their pants

Britain's are so keen to get away to sunnier climes, some don't even remember to pack their pants.

Around 3% forget to pack their undies, with 14% forgetting plug adapters and 12% leaving without a phone charger, according to a study by comparison site TravelSupermarket.com.

Almost a quarter of those surveyed admitted leaving their packing until the day before setting off, and 5% only started a few hours before flying.

Just a short distance from Maestrat Park is the Panaramica Golf and Country Club, designed by Bernhard Langer and built to the typical American style of narrow fairways and well cared for rough, making it a very enjoyable course.

It really is tranquil at Maestrat Park, with the sound of birds.  Yet within 11 minutes I was ordering our Tapas lunch on the promenade at Vinaros.
After a hot dry summer we have cleansing fresh rain, the Spanish govt may have its faults but their weather policy is spot on...

According to latest report by Randstad, The confidence of the Spanish in keeping their jobs has increased in recent months, with only 3 out of 10 being afraid of losing their job, lowest since 2012.
